American Reading Company

Blue Bell, PA

New LEED certified corporate headquarters in a mid-century office/warehouse building

Three big ideas:

Adaptive Reuse,
Long Life Loose Fit,
Multi-Phase

American Reading Company is an mission-driven organization focused on “every child in America reading and writing on, or above, grade level.”  To achieve this, they design grade school reading curriculums, publish their own books, and package and ship books to schools all over the country!

On the eve of the 2020 pandemic, ARC invested in a new facility to relocate to – little did they know at the time that the whole world of work was about to be turned upside down.  Over the subsequent four years, Re:Vision worked with ARC to conceptualize and implement a sustainable and multi-phase process to strip away decades of tenant subdivision in the new building and thoughtfully put it back together to support a post-pandemic workforce in the office and the warehouse.  ARC is well on their way to achieving carbon neutrality through the energy efficient adaptive-reuse of the building, solar photovoltaic panels on the roof, and carbon sequestration in the restoration of the campus landscape.
