Full-block LEED development in Philadelphia’s Graduate Hospital neighborhood

Three big ideas:

Daylighting,
Modular Construction,
LEED Gold Certified

How often do you get a whole city block to play with?  That was the opportunity on Bancroft Street where previously demolished row homes left a majority of the street vacant.   Working closely with the developer/builder, Re:Vision master planned two phases of construction to create 11 new-construction LEED Gold Certified row homes.  With lots less than 16’ wide, the units are a study in verticality and include appealing living spaces from below-grade to the rooftop.  The design took a creative approach to daylighting and incorporated light wells and clerestories to successfully bring light deep into the units. One of our favorite features is the street-level storage unit for bicycles, strollers, trash or any other movable object that vexes most city homeowners.

““From our first conversation, I knew that Re:Vision would be the perfect design partners for Bancroft Green’s development projects. They have been genuine stewards for sustainability and we always know that Re:Vision is going above and beyond in providing valuable insights into building performance. In addition, we’ve had the pleasure of working with many members of the Re:Vision family. The friendly and laid back attitude of the entire firm is a delight to be around.” ”
