The Berks Women in Crisis Center earned a LEED NC v2.2 Silver certification for its sustainable efforts to create a safe, welcoming environment for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Re:Vision acted as the LEED Consultant and lead a five-day integrated design charrette. Smart design choices, like a long east-west axis and tight envelope assemblies, mean that the Center uses 20% less energy than a baseline building. It’s also water efficient, using 51% less potable water and capturing 90% of annual rainfall. Re:Vision is proud that this facility helped Reading earn Pennsylvania’s first STAR Community certification in May 2015.
