2015 | Chicago, IL

As a consultant to the acclaimed landscape architecture firm James Corner Field Operations, Re:Vision is leading the SITES certification for the redesign of the public realm portion of the Chicago Navy Pier.  The Pier is Chicago’s most visited tourist destination so we are excited to make sustainability an integral part of the experience, including  using condensate and rainwater harvesting to meet 100% of irrigation demand, a dedicated multi-modal transportation hub, native and adaptive plant palette, a wellness program for the greater community, treatment and management of the 80th percentile storm event, the prioritization of regional materials with high recycled content and low toxicity, and policies to ensure sustainable site operations and maintenance practices in perpetuity.  The public realm portion of the Chicago Navy Pier is the world’s first SITES Gold certified project.
