Master Plan for Philadelphia Navy Yard adaptive reuse facility focused on building energy efficiency

Three big ideas:

Adaptive Reuse,
Deep Energy Efficiency,
Sustainability Research

Working with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and Penn State University, Re:Vision completed a concept design for the full-spectrum retrofit of a 35,000 sf historic building at The Philadelphia Navy Yard which served as a key component of a $130M grant award from the Department of Energy. Following the grant award, Re:Vision then worked closely with researchers and public-private partners to develop a master plan for the facility renovation, including project vision, spatial program, test fit options, and conceptual cost estimate. The renovated facility was planned to include a combination of offices, educational facilities, and high-bay research labs to house Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster personnel and serve as a living laboratory for collaborative development and demonstration of new technologies, policies, business models, and process integration methods for full-spectrum building retrofits that result in vastly reduced energy use.
