The new 20,000 sf main restaurant will blur the lines between indoors and outdoors by incorporating large windows and biophilic design elements throughout. A rooftop dining deck surrounded by tree tops and a green roof, which is irrigated by collected rainwater, further connects patrons to the outdoors. Green strategies go beyond LEED – the Zoo is pursuing Green Restaurant Certification where composting is required and polystyrene is banned. Re:Vision is also providing building enclosure commissioning services: document review, spec writing, and testing coordination.
