When it was time to update San Mateo County Community College’s District Design Standards, sustainability took a front seat. For the Standards, Re:Vision was first charged with facilitating the development of sustainability goals that would apply to multiple SMCCCD campuses, and with drafting an integrated design process that would support future development projects. Re:Vision translated the overarching goals into succinct and actionable strategies for energy efficiency, water management, building monitoring, and learning opportunities. Benefits of the strategies were identified, along with alignment with CalGreen and LEED. Re:Vision’s work was part of a larger Standards project led by Steinberg Architects.
