Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) is a quality assurance process for verifying that building enclosure assemblies and details meet the objectives and standards of the Owner. Re:Vision’s work as a Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider includes: guidance for enclosure and testing requirements; design phase documentation reviews; submittal reviews; construction site observation visits; witnessing of testing and procedures; and management of deficiencies and resolutions.

Re:Vision provided Fundamental Building Enclosure Commissioning services for the 5,000 sf addition to the Engine 37 Fire House. Our holistic approach began with guiding the team in the establishment of cost-effective and appropriate performance goals for the building enclosure. This aided in our detailed review of the design documents where we applied our knowledge in building science and architectural detailing. We were also engaged by this client to bring the planned LEED Silver certification up to Gold to set an example for other city projects.

To verify that the owner's design intent and project performance goals are being met, Re:Vision facilitated the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD) process and design document review related to the enclosure for the new 1.2 M sf, 16-story mixed-use residential towers with ground floor retail. Drawings and details were reviewed for durability. efficient performance, and constructability. Recommendations and clarifications were noted in order to make design or installation improvements, better inform the design and construction team, and verify the Owner’s project requirements are met.
