As all of our coping mechanisms are stress-tested during the pandemic, one thing we can all agree on in our office is that food is a wonderful salve for the stomach and soul. As we work from home, here are some of our top choices for takeout to support local businesses. Be sure to check out their website for any updates as Philly prepares to start re-opening.
Chabaa Thai & Yanako
Run by the wonderful Chef Moon, either of these restaurants are a great choice when you need to get your sushi or pad thai on in Manayunk.
Also located in Manayunk, check out Pilgrim Roasters for locally roasted, delicious coffee. Coffee available for pickup or delivery as of this writing.
Winnie’s is our last Manayunk suggestion (for now!). With comfort food of all stripes for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, it’s worth checking out their curbside pickup and delivery menu.
United by Blue
A clothing store? Well, yes, but! United by Blue’s flagship store on Race Street also has a fantastic cafe attached, which is currently doing curbside meal and grocery pickup.
Mariposa Food Co-op
Located in West Philly, Mariposa Food Co-op is a member-owned grocery store open to everyone for shopping and curbside pickup.
We’ve also done design work for these shops, so we’re looking forward to the day when we can head back and remind ourselves of the simple joys of in-person dining and shopping.
Stay safe, and stay healthy. We’re busy updating our best practices for architecture in light of the current health crisis. Please reach out if we can help you and your team improve your space and prepare for a safe re-opening.
